Our hospital exists to operate and maintain economically feasible health care services for the residents of the area. We provide a quality and nurturing environment for patients, medical staff, and the public in a full continuum of care with our 25-bed critical access hospital and rural health clinics. We have an extensive medical service line that includes everything from family practice medicine to surgical and non-surgical specialties. We offer three designated rural health clinics, a surgery specialty clinic and an outpatient specialty clinic to meet the needs of our patients in and around our county. The continuum and mission are supported by a team of 294 employees.BBGH is a basic level trauma center and offers a range of clinical services and a team of experienced nurses, doctors, advanced practice providers and other medical professionals. Our services include: behavioral health, cardiology, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, dialysis unit, emergency department, ENT, family medicine, gastroenterology, general surgery, heart and vascular, hospitalists, infusion, lab, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, oncology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, oral surgery, pain management, pediatrics, physical therapy / occupational therapy / speech therapy/ respiratory therapy, senior life solutions, sleep studies, urology, women's health, and wound care. Trustees shall be appointed by the County Commissioners with staggered terms of six years. The Board of Trustees along with the input from the executive leadership team establish and maintain the mission, vision, values, commitments, and strategic direction of the hospital. Medical CommunityOur medical community has a hospital owned family practice and surgery specialty clinic called Greater Nebraska Medical & Surgical Services (GNMSS). The community is also home to a direct primary care clinic, pediatric clinic and an independent internal medicine clinic. GNMSS employs four physicians, three physician assistants, and two advanced practice registered nurses. We have the unique ability to work with twelve specialists that provide services at both BBGH and GNMSS: sports medicine, orthopedic medicine and surgery, ENT, urology, gastroenterology and pain medicine. Our hospital employs a hospitalist program that is staffed with a physician and physician assistant to meet the needs of patients of our inpatient and swing bed service. Our 24-hour emergency department employs two physicians and two nurse practitioners to meet all of your emergent care needs.BBGH also offers other services that support our community. These services include: diabetes education, hypnosis, Jane's Closet, Meals on Wheels, swing bed, Wellness Center and Special Services. The Wellness Center offers 24/7 access to community members with staffed hours during the day. Community members can also partake in fitness classes at various times throughout the week. Our Special Services is a highly reputable program that assists patients and families in navigating the health care system by working collaboratively with medical providers, nursing and rehabilitation, as well as with social workers and discharge planners from other health care institutions. With - 8,500 residents, Alliance is the metropolis of Box Butte County.ResponsibilitiesThe Chief Nursing Officer provides clinical and administrative leadership and direction to the nursing division and other assigned departments. The position also facilitates development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of services within the assigned areas through collaboration with the nursing leaders, clinical/medical staff and other managers. The CNO's success is measured by the achievement of hospital, nursing and quality goals and adherence to policies, procedures, and standards set forth by state, federal, and hospital regulatory agencies. The CNO is accountable for establishing operational mechanisms and nurse leadership structures which facilitate quality patient care. Minimum of five (5) years of recent acute care staffing experience and at least 3 years in a nursing leadership role preferred. Obstetrics experience and understanding and knowledge of a critical access hospital experience preferred. If candidate is not master's prepared, conditional employment will include the completion of a master's degree in nursing or related leadership/management within 5 years of hire date.Required license and certification includes current RN license in the State of Nebraska and current BLS (Basic Life Support) for healthcare workers. If BLS is not current, it must be completed within 90 days of employment. National Certification in Nursing Administration preferred.
