    Job Summary
    The Assistant Director of Alumni Relations is a member of the university's centralized alumni relations team, which is responsible for informing and engaging alumni in support of UNC's mission and priorities. The Assistant Director manages relationships, programs, and services that retain alumni interest in and capacity to support UNC.

    Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Alumni Relations, the Assistant Director of Alumni Relations operates in an integrated advancement environment where positional objectives align with divisional and university priorities. The position works daily with advancement staff in alumni relations, development, advancement services, and the UNC Foundation; and frequently with faculty and staff in the academic colleges, academic affairs, career services, and marketing.

    The position must present and maintain professional standards of communication and behavior acceptable to and inclusive of the university's diverse alumni and donor community, various industry and employer partnerships, and in alignment with the high quality of UNC's academic history and traditions. The position must understand and value the importance of creating diverse programs that appeal to diverse alumni populations. The position must employ data and benchmarking research when proposing, developing, and evaluating alumni programs and services.


    Minimum Qualifications
    -Bachelor's degree
    -Minimum of two years of progressive responsibility in alumni relations, career development, external affairs, or similar constituent engagement role.


    Preferred Qualifications
    Preferred experience in higher education, with an understanding of advancement and career development.

    Salary and Benefits
    Salary is $54,500 and is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits available include health, dental, vision, life and long-term disability insurance, as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement plans. Dependents and spouses of UNC Employees who are employed at 0.5 FTE or above are eligible for undergraduate dependent tuition grants of up to 50%. These tuition grants will cover in-state tuition charges. Further requirements may exist. Other benefits may be available based on position.
