Director of Sustainable Food SystemsPurpose and Scope/General Summary: We are looking for a Director of Sustainable Food Systems for JBS that reports onsite to the Corporate Office in Greeley, Colorado. Responsibilities:Responsible for leading JBS USA s value chain sustainability initiatives in collaboration with Fed Beef, Regional Beef, and Pork business units. Primary focus is on building
supply chain programs to benefit agricultural producers along the entire supply chain to address natural resource concerns and improve the productivity and resiliency of JBS s ag commodity supply chains.Work closely with business teams to design value chain initiatives to support key customers to advance the sustainability of JBS s commodity suppliers and achieve the goals of JBS s customers.Coordinate and collaborate with Pilgrim s USA business teams and sustainability lead to develop supply chain initiatives to protect and enhance natural resources in the chicken production supply chain. Collaborate with sustainability peers in JBS and Pilgrim s regions to share knowledge, co-create, and advance sustainability outcomes across JBS s global ag commodity supply chains.Represent and be the principal expert for JBS USA at conferences, sustainability roundtables, and trade association events.Coordinate with Live Animal and Quality Assurance departments on consumer, animal welfare and other social priorities to facilitate reporting and progress to goals.Provide technical expertise in the identification and implementation of potential company-wide sustainability projects and initiatives Identify, review and itemize/aggregate the Company s current sustainability efforts across all business units. Evaluate overlapping programs within each unit and identify opportunities to eliminate redundancies and maximize synergies Develop a comprehensive JBS USA supply chain sustainability plan that focuses on identifying long-range sustainability opportunities that provide economic benefits to the Company and communicating new and existing efforts to the marketplaceServe as the primary JBS USA contact for all ag commodity sustainability related mattersCoordinate with JBS USA communications team to support internal and external sustainability outreach and communications Communicate JBS sustainability policy and potential opportunities in sustainability and environmental compliance to business unitsWork with JBS Government Affairs unit to influence governmental policy and regulations at the national and state levelsIdentify, coordinate and manage the Company s involvement in potential environmental markets such as GHG insets, biodiversity credits, water quality credits and other ecosystem assets Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of sustainable practices in agricultural settings as they relate livestock management and production and row crop production. Expertise in soil conservation, nutrient management, grazing management, pest management practices, and wildlife habitat strongly desired.Demonstrated experience with designing and delivering large-scale farmland sustainability programs, including helping farmers and ranchers participate in public-and private-sector programs. Track record of earning grants and awards from public agencies to support agricultural conservation adoption a significant plus.Knowledge of agricultural conservation practices and how they mitigate GHG emissions and help farms adapt to climate change. Knowledge of agriculture, livestock, poultry and/or food industryProven
with strategic planning abilities to identify opportunities and build solutions to system challenges. Works collaboratively with peers and can operate independently when provided goals and performance expectations.Excellent track record of effective customer relationship management experienceExperience with planning, budgeting, and financial management strongly desired. A minimum of ten years of agricultural environmental/sustainability related experienceA Bachelor s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Animal Science, Agricultural Business, Agricultural Economics or related fields. Masters or doctorate degree preferred.Effective oral and written communication skillsProject management, collaboration skillsPlanning, budget and financial management experience a plusCan perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodationAs a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. Unless otherwise specified in this posting, the amount of travel may vary and the most qualified candidate must be willing and able to travel as business needs dictate.The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule; Base salary range of $120,000-$180,000; andIncentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program;
