Assistant Category ManagerPurpose and Scope/General Summary:Reporting to the Global Category Manager, the Assistant Category Manager is responsible for supporting the sourcing and management of Packaging (Globally) and ensures all business requirements are accounted for in category strategies. The Assistant Category Manager role is critical in supporting sourcing through involvement in category strategy creation and directly supporting supplier identification, selection, and negotiation to ensure the highest level of service and quality in supply. The Assistant Category Manager will identify and build strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.Responsibilities:Support the Global Category Manager with the Business Units Globally/Locally in the sourcing process to ensure category strategies and supplier selection conform to businessrequirementsAssist the Global Category Manager on Scenario Analysis and Contract ManagementCollaborate with cross functional teams, including Research and Development and Quality Assurance, to qualify materials and suppliers, identify value creation opportunities, and lead sourcinginitiativesUtilize internal and external market research analysis to optimize sourcing decisions and keep stakeholders informed of key marketdriversCollaborate with internal stakeholders to assess and structure business and operating model for strategic categoriesAssist in the development of risk mitigation strategies for critical supplies by developing backup supply options, price risk management and hedging strategies, and mitigate health and safetyrisksPerform spend analytics to identify savingsopportunitiesAssist supplier relationship and performance, resolve performance issues, pursue financial claims; conduct formal supplier performance reviews with key strategicsuppliersOwn supplier contracting for all suppliers and development of master agreements for topsuppliersOther duties asassignedQualifications:Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or related field3+ years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related fields; prefer experience with packaging and ingredientssourcingDemonstrated ability to effectively interact in a cross-functional teamenvironmentStrong analytical and critical thinking skillsEffective written and oral communications skillsUnderstanding of supply/commodity markets a plusHigh level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word,PowerPointand ExcelFluency in English required, and Spanish ispreferredCan perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonableaccommodationAs a salaried position with the company,you may be required totravel at some pointto other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations.
