Adult PsychThe Denver Health Medical and Psychiatric Complexity
unit (MAPc) is a 12 - bed, inpatient, secured unit designed to
treat adult patients, aged 18 years and older, with the presence of
active medical and psychiatric issues that require hospitalization.
In partnership with the medical and psychiatric teams, the Nursing
Care Team will provide comprehensive care for complex patients. The
Nursing Care Team may possess clinical skills in either medical
surgical and/or psychiatric nursing disciplines; the MAPc Nursing
Care Team will achieve competencies in both psychiatric and medical
surgical nursing through onsite training and development. The
Nursing Care Team will be required to maintain relevant
certifications and licensures and comply with medical and
psychiatric policies and procedures that pertain to the unit. The
Nursing Care Team is integral to our mission of providing
exceptional, patient-centered care in a complex, multidisciplinary
setting.Job Summary
Under minimal supervision, the Associate Nurse Manager performs
managerial and leadership functions over professional nursing and
support care team in various healthcare consumer care settings.
Applies critical thinking, evidence-based policies, procedures,
guidelines and competence to collaborate with the health care team
to promote excellence in healthcare consumer safety and quality
outcomes and independently works with the manager to maintain
departmental goals and initiatives.
Adheres to the American Nurses Association (ANA) standards of
professional nursing practice / process and performance, and the
ANA Code of Ethics (2015)* Utilize and support the Theory of Human
Caring and Caritas as a part of his or her daily practice. "Jean

Education:
- Bachelor's Degree Required
Work Experience:
- three (3) years of nursing experience Required and
- 2 years nursing leadership (Charge RN) experience preferred
Licenses:
- BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart
Association or American Red Cross Required and
- RN-Registered Nurse - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

accrediting body standards.
- Strong understanding and display of the principals of customer
service as it applies to patients, staff and the community
- Ability to assist in identifying ways to promote quality

- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of assessment findings
as they relate to the disease process and continuum of
care.

accrediting agency standards, and quality initiatives.

statues, regulations, hospital and departmental policies, standards
of care, and regulatory
- Promotes quality care by redefining priorities for care based
on evaluation of healthcare consumer/family response or changing
condition.
