An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Intensive Care to provide critical care services in a 30-bed ICU unit. This contract position offers a dynamic work environment with a focus on high-acuity patients, such as neuro and trauma cases. This role is based in Denver, CO, and involves working 7 AM to 7 PM shifts. Key Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive nursing care to ICU patients with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, accommodating occasional overflow situations. Perform complex procedures including rapid intubation, chest tube management, and external ventricular drains (EVD). Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to manage fluctuating patient acuity and ensure patient safety. Utilize advanced equipment such as Lenet beds and GE monitors, documenting care accurately within the Meditech EMR system. Adapt to changing assignments mid-shift as patient needs evolve. Qualifications: Current Registered Nurse license with ICU experience required. Strong skills in neuro and trauma patient care are mandatory. Neuro certification is preferred but not required. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Demonstrated flexibility and teamwork to meet unit demands.
