Job Description:
HCA Healthcare invites applications for the position of Nurse
Extern in our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This role provides a
unique opportunity for nursing students to gain hands-on experience
and mentorship in a supportive and high-acuity environment. As part
of our team, the Nurse Extern will assist in delivering
compassionate, high-quality care to patients with complex
conditions, directly supporting our mission to improve human life.
This externship is designed to bridge the gap between classroom
learning and real-world nursing practice, offering invaluable
insights and experiences that will shape your future career in
healthcare. Assist nursing staff in providing patient care
according to hospital policies and procedures. Participate in
patient assessments and contribute to care plans. Monitor patient
vital signs and report significant changes to supervising nurses or
physicians. Help with the administration of medication under the
supervision of a registered nurse. Maintain accurate patient
records and ensure confidentiality at all times. Collaborate with
other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care
delivery. Participate in educational workshops to enhance skills
and knowledge. Strong observational skills Effective communication
Ability to follow detailed instructions Capability to work under
pressure Empathy and interpersonal skills Medical Insurance Dental

(BLS) Certification required Currently enrolled and in good
standing in an accredited nursing school
