Department Information

The University of Northern Colorado is located in Greeley, Colorado, population over 100,000, an hour's drive north of Denver, and within driving distance of the Rocky Mountains.   • Prepare food, hot and cold, using standardized recipes and methods to maintain high food quality and nutritional standards according to computerized menus and production sheets.
  • Label and date prepared food.
  • Measure and weigh food ingredients and understand proper use of cooking technology in order to prepare ingredients as specified by the recipe.
  • Communicate with co-workers and unit chef about items that are prepared and assist, train, and work with fellow employees in their daily tasks.
  • Prepare food according to methods taught in the Culinary Objectives and ensure others working in the kitchen are also utilizing those same procedures.
  • Be able to train and work all stations.
  • Monitor and maintain sanitary and safe working conditions by implementing safe food handling practices.
  • Anticipate & communicate food needs to the unit chef.
  • Report to work as scheduled daily, follow scheduled meal and rest breaks.
  • Practice good kitchen safety, good housekeeping, and good personal hygiene in adherence toUNCDining Policy.
  • Demonstrate culinary professionalism by demonstrating knowledge using the Culinary Training objective list.

    Education and Experience:
    Two years of experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position.
