  • First Aid and CPR training helpful JOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective: Responsible for supporting the needs of students and their families by facilitating parent programs and collaborating with the site facilitators, teachers, and other school staff to ensure the goals of 21st Century Community Learning Center are met. This position will organize, support, or aid parent engagement classes, parent activities, and parent meetings. The Liaison will collaborate with community organizations to provide quality programs to parents/families. This position is also responsible for organizing professional development to empower teachers to engage with parents. Essential Functions:
    • Development/support of parent engagement
    • ?Work with students and families
    • Identify academic need and provide support and resources to overcome any and all barriers
    • Provide awareness and advocacy on immigrant needs, forums, and workshops within the community
    • Assist with administrative policies, procedures, documents, and data
    • Work with the school principal, site facilitator, teachers, and other staff
    • Provide family and student mentoring as related to credit recovery opportunities and post secondary information
    • Communicate with parents: newsletters, phone calls, parent teacher conferences, etc.
    • Conduct parent meetings on how to help their children to learn and give them strategies they can implement at home
    • Work with partner agencies to provide quality parent engagement programs
    • Communicates as needed with the Community Facilitator and Grant Coordinator Other Duties: Knowledge, Skills, and Mental Ability
      • Knowledge of Colorado and district content standards.
      • Knowledge and skills sufficient to perform all duties of the position.
      • Prefers leadership situations relating to meeting the social, emotional, psychological and academic needs of students.
